Kudos WikiLeaks !!

We all know Wikileaks has exposed a huge pile of classified records on External affairs to internal affairs of many countries who played and are playing huge role in International issues. This Wikileaks is the bold, daring, clear and assailable journalism of modern World. It might question that Is this the real journalism??Before we Ask this question its good to look out some highlights of Wikileaks..

In Wikipedia, its clearly stated that Wikileaks has been honored by many Non-profit Organizations like Economist.com (this site has a heavy reputation about  portraying good and bad about today’s Economics ), ‘Veterans for Peace’, Amnesty International, ‘reporters without borders’  etc..  . Governments of Venezuela and Ecuador stated their support publicly to Julian Assuage, founder of Wikileaks.org.

Coming to the Journalism issue, the real meaning of Journalism is ‘the collecting, writing, editing, and presenting of news or news articles in newspapers and magazines and in radio and television broadcasts’ from freedictionary.com .Journalism is writing journals for mass and It shouldn’t be  thwarted or foiled. The simple way to defend  is to answer it. Just Answering will clearly change the content of Journalism, Its just words needed to answer.

These days many Governments spend money much more like water wafers without considering the quality and process of end results. If a person writes something much classified to a common man for which these classified information holds the result of huge Government spending then obviously, it must be answered or else it raises serious doubts and it stinks a lot later.

Truly speaking, these Wikileaks exposed complete negativity by impersonating many important characters of  this world in their Documents either good or bad. These documents have undesirable, bad, serious, sensitive and penetrating information from Guantanamo Bay to Sarah Palin’s yahoo email account to Nuclear accident in Iran to Toxic dumping in Africa to corruption in banks, protocols which are not exercised, 9/11 messages, US intelligence reports, Love parade documents, all about Iraq War, Afghanistan War, talks between world leaders on sensitive issues etc.. so This Wikileaks has the complete cables from sources which are unreachable to even Governments and Intelligence agencies.

This classified documents which is the collective hard work of hundreds of cables and many more who wants to show something which is not reachable and  something which cannot be opined is considered offensive??.The unusual thing of the present moment is that Wikileaks founder Julian Assuage is under a immense attack from Governments, media mughals and  Ambassadors of and from different countries. Common man is Awe struck with the little tip of an ice berg he showed in his Website and now his site is brought down and Interpol is being ordered to arrange an arrest warrant. Is this the way democracy in America is exercised?? If someone does something wrong then why he is not brought to law even if he is a martyr?? He is still a Human and he accepts the constitution of his Country!!???

I feel so sorry for Julian Assuage who showed new manner, means and room for today;s Journalism which is completely wilted and tilted to Governments and Corporates had ended in a tussle which can’t be dared to by any individual.

Longlive Wikileaks!! This could start Zeidgeist momentum if everyone stands for it!!

Best Zero Emission Cars today!

Zero emission cars are the wave of the future. And more manufacturers seem to realize that in order to deal with the growing scarcity of fossil fuels, producing environmental friendly cars is a solid investment.
The concepts and designs that are thought up by engineers and designers at some of the biggest car makers in the world are featured in this lens.
These are the best in zero emission car design.

Volkswagen Concept S

Volkswagen has been known to produce smaller, easy to drive cars that are perfect for city dwellers. This has inspired designer Mark Kruse (see more design in his portfolio) to come up with this design for a zero emission car called Concept S.

The concept will be powered by four electric motors and to even make it more environmental friendly it will be painted with water based paint. With adding or removing seats or other cosmetic changes, the car can be transformed into a hatchback, small SUV or small truck.

Hyundai 2020

Designer Nicolas Stone has come up with a zero emission concept for Hyundai. The design was inspired by plants because of the way it uses the same elements as plant life to produce it's own fuel.

Dubbed the 2020, the concept is aimed as a family/city car and should seat up to four people.

Water is converted into hydrogen and oxygen by electrolysis (powered by the transparent solar panels which cover the body) which powers the hydrogen engine. And by using just solar and hydrogen power, the only emission this car will produce is clean water and oxygen.

Jaguar C-XC

Jaguar is one of the best known British car manufacturers in the world. From the vintage E-type to the newest XK their coupes have always been sleek and beautiful. Phillip Dean used those design characteristics to design the C-XC. It's a concept aimed at being as energy efficient and environmental friendly as possible.

To give it the classic Jaguar look and add to the aerodynamic shape of the car, a single sheet glass pane and covered wheels are embedded in the design. Not only does this concept use a zero emission hydrogen engine, the car will be build by reused materials such as vegetable tan leather and recycled plastic bottles.

Morgan Life Car

Morgan is another example of a British classic car manufacturer. Realizing the resources for fossil fuel are definite, they developed the Life Car which was shown to the world on the Geneva Motor Show.

Inspired by their Aero-8 roadster this car is powered by 4 electric hubs mounted on each wheel and powered by a hydrogen engine. It's extremely light (under 700 kgs) because of the use of materials such as aluminum and wood. They also left out a stereo system, central lock mechanisms and air bags (which cuts down on the safety features) in an effort to keep down the weight.

It's range should be around 250 miles on a single tank and have a top speed of around 100 mph. Doing the 0-60 run should take about 7 seconds.

It's a stunning and sleek car. A video featuring the car can be found below.

Honda FC sports car

Honda already has a zero emission car you could buy right now in the Clarity. This hasn't stopped them from coming up with new concepts when it comes to environmental friendly cars.

Revealed at the L.A. Auto show, the FC sports car is a three-seat, hydrogen powered car. Power is supplied via battery packs behind the rear seats and middle of the car. With this design Honda once again proves its commitment towards creating greener cars.

Peugeot

Peugeot  RD concept

It seems to be coming right from the set of Minority Report or Blade Runner, but this design is the winner of Peugeot's "Imagine the Peugeot in the Worldwide Metropolis of tomorrow"-competition. The design by Carlos Arturo Torres features a single-seater, three-wheel design which should make it a perfect fit for the urban environment.

The design should be powered by electric motors to make it as environmental friendly as possible. With the ability to lean into corners, the car should create the sensation of riding a scooter with keeping the advantages of driving a saloon car. The concept was introduced during the Shanghai Motor Show.

Peugeot Capsule

The Peugeot Capsule concept is an ATV with an environmental friendly approach. Designed by Alp Germaner the car is intended for the more adventure minded driver who wants to drive their car on all terrains and all weather types.

A battery pack powers an electric engine, with solar panels on the roof providing additional electricity. It also features a build-in and removable storage compartment. All vehicle functions are controlled through touch-screen technology and it's equipped with state of the art internet connectivity through satellites.

Arius Concept

More looking like a Batmobile than a conventional car, the Arius Concept designed by Jongpil Shin has some interesting features. It has an electric motor and the sleek and aerodynamic design produces less drag.

The two-seater concept also features cross seating so driver and passenger face each other.

These are the cars which are officially in manufacturing stage, but some critics say many of them are not completely zero emission cars as some of them  employ hybrid engines for cutting running costs!

Honda CUB the best selling MotorCycle

There are already 40 million Cubs build, making it the best selling motorcycle. This is a simple machine with a massive appeal in to American and European economies and with its 4 Break Horsepower, it still manages to run 50 Mph. To demonstrate the reliability of the Cub  in the video presenter tried to destroy it, using several methods:

Mess up the engine:

By draining all the oil and replacing it with normal cooking oil, the engine should crack up. Fortunate for the CUB it still manage to work even after riding a couple of miles.

Overload:

In the next effort to destroy the CUB, it was overloaded with 200 kilograms, which it could withstand flawlessly.

Drastic measures:

In the final attempt to kill the CUB, it was thrown of a 22 meters tall building. When the CUB collapses it hit the ground with a staggering 54 Mph speed.

Although part of the framework and the wheels get severely damaged, the true measure of its quality is to try to get the engine running... it may not surprise you that after inserting the ignition key and gently applying the kickstarter, this incredible strong vehicle starts without a cough.

image
In a final statement the presentor says that it would probably only gets destroyed by using C4 plastic explosive. Because the Honda CUB is such a cheap, realiable, strong motorcycle, it is rewarded as the Number One motorcycle in the world.

Something is wrong in strategy of licensing, Apple?

Its been a good month so far for apple with its iPad hitting as many streets as possible and release of its next version of  iPhone OS called as iPhone Os 4. Things are very well good for Apple Inc but now something's wrong with its friendly strategy.

Apple when releasing its new iPhone Os 4 Jobs stated the age old flash is not supported which raised lot of eyebrows for such an act by Apple.Though Adobe has developed AIR(Adobe Integrated Runtime) Apple blocked it for iPhone, iPod touch and now iPad.

Flash is one of the content loaded for intuitively using the hardware which can’t be done using some  native source code. Now, Flash is so big that its the web Os for latest Dell 12” tablet

Adobe was criticized a lot for its security loopholes in its content which annoyed Microsoft a lot. Later things changed to All iz well relying on Flash all time. Still Apple making such a move of not supporting Adobe’s Flash can be considered as a weak strategy for its developers and customers, A Big Weak Strategy!!.Now, Apple Developers are still using the same old iPhone SDK for which supports C,C++ and JavaScript nothing more than that and Today there are bundle of  languages which are well versed for low-cost mobile-end application development like Python, C#, Ruby, BizTalk, HTML 5, Android, Symbian etc…Seems like Android and Symbian?? yeah! Why don't U integrate app development for the later Android and Symbian also this could drive the whole Mobile Development Crazy rather than targeting Adobe products?? This friendly strategy could churn out lot of good-developers  in to limelight .

Things are not similar at Developer’s end! They got messed up..This post by Dan Grigsby is clear that Apple is very much introvert and profit oriented!Poor Guy, He is quitting iPhone app Development and is going for Google Android.I think there is a turmoil over there!!

Apple scheme of not adding any code to make Flash run in its devkit is like bluntly hitting Adobe again! Apple started ask-permission policy for iPhone developers to make their way in to iPhone market but now with Dan Grigsby quitting it looks like all the good is vanishing and nonstandard is filled up there!

Its clear some guys like Microsoft opens up their walls to let anyone do anything in their machines while Apple has always a closed wall and We being accustomed to ideology of Microsoft  looks out for freedom on everything rather than the consequences in the service . Its just clash of Ideas  not clash of  Apple, Microsoft, Adobe etc..and We all are pawns in it ..

FORD on its New Idea, SYNC

Sometimes being low  also helps to achieve the good start needed when U come in limelight. Ford, 4th car giant behind Volkswagen, GM and Toyota is tumbling with Innovations.  Ford is the only company from the other three Detroit Car manufacturers  who hadn’t asked for Gov’t loan while GM and Chrysler gone bankrupt, and automatically downsized their operations making FORD the biggest Car manufacturer since the decade. So what's the new Innovation from Mulalley,CEO of FORD??

image

What happens if Your car is able to recognize Your voice and make/take decisions mutually, U and little IQ in the car??

What happens if You are able to make a call by just using Your voice not at all touching Your phone?? How it feels when You are able to select Your interested talk Radio/Music tracks by voice comfortably, without touching LCD beside for playlists>tracks blah..blah..blah..??
How much time and money can be saved if Your car is automatically giving You the preferred dining restaurants/Pubs/Golf courts in and around the City and also daily planner ,without a PA?? What if Your car reads out the new Tweet aloud for You and types the reply?? What if You are controlling Your phone apps without touching?? All these done while driving and not taking out Your hands from the wheel???

I think I had typed Too many questions ..lets go on!! We all know that  this stage of digital fortress is near but who came out first with such bug-friendly, high painstaking software?? Its the Microsoft again!! Voila, The perfect and friendly software giant again!!Bill Gates and Mulalley went across each other at 2005 at Dearborn tech meeting. It was the moment where an Open-Source concept called SYNC rolled in to papers between them and now its the Piece of Software that sits in Your car allowing other company products to connect. So, SYNC recognizes Your Phone what's next??? How can You make all the tasks in the above paragraph?? SYNC is open-source :) So, Outside Programmers from the Tech Companies like Blackberry, Nokia, Sony, Samsung .. list goes on ….etc are supposed to write the code compatible for this new Windows flavor(SYNC).

Preparing an add-on code for SYNC to connect a phone is painstaking ?? Big NO,OpenBeak and Pandora the 2 third-party mobile developers are able to prepare SYNC-specific software just in 10 days..!!Pandora CEO,Tim Westergren quoted that using Pandora Radio with SYNC is far more elegant than in a Player and using Voice to navigate Radio is far greater experience  ..! Hmm,Lucky Guy to see and feel the new Tech.

What this SYNC can Do,  is like what apple SDK did?? Apple SDK is the Software Development Kit for iPhone which had revolutionized the whole mobile app development, it created earnings for a lot of jobless youth, which gave variety of apps for consumers indirectly driving iPhone sales. SYNC  being an  open-source code is not at all costly. Stage might come where You can download the Your Phone’s SYNC code directly from your phone manufacturer site! I can foresee what happens if an unknown  programmer who is not at all connected to FORD and Your Mobile manufacturer  is coding an app to provide GPS navigation On Your Phone! Variety is truly the spice of life :D

My tears rolled!!

10th grade
As I sat there in English class, I stared at the girl next to me. She was my so called "best friend". I stared at her long, silky hair, and wished she was mine. But she didn't notice me like that, and I knew it. After class, she walked up to me and asked me for the notes she had missed the day before and handed them to her. She said "thanks" and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I wanted to tell her, I want her to know that I don't want to be just friends, I love her but I'm just too shy, and I don't know why.

11th grade
The phone rang. On the other end, it was her. She was in tears, mumbling on and on about how her love had broke her heart. She asked me to come over because she didn't want to be alone, so I did. As I sat next to her on the sofa, I stared at her soft eyes, wishing she was mine. After 2 hours, one Drew Barrymore movie, and three bags of chips, she decided to go to sleep. She looked at me, said "thanks" and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I want to tell her, I want her to know that I don't want to be just friends, I love her but I'm just too shy, and I don't know why.
Senior year
The day before prom she walked to my locker. My date is sick" she said; he's not going to go well, I didn't have a date, and in 7th grade, we made a promise that if neither of us had dates, we would go together just as "best friends". So we did. Prom night, after everything was over, I was standing at her front door step. I stared at her as she smiled at me and stared at me with her crystal eyes. I want her to be mine, but she isn't think of me like that, and I know it. Then she said "I had the best time, thanks!" and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I want to tell her, I want her to know that I don't want to be just friends, I love her but I'm just too shy, and I don't know why.

Graduation Day
A day passed, then a week, then a month. Before I could blink, it was graduation day. I watched as her perfect body floated like an angel up on stage to get her diploma. I wanted her to be mine, but she didn't notice me like that, and I knew it. Before everyone went home, she came to me in her smock and hat, and cried as I hugged her. Then she lifted her head from my shoulder and said, "you're my best friend, thanks" and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I want to tell her, I want her to know that I don't want to be just friends, I love her but I'm just too shy, and I don't know why.

A Few Years Later
Now I sit in the pews of the church. That girl is getting married now. I watched her say "I do" and drive off to her new life, married to another man. I wanted her to be mine, but she didn't see me like that, and I knew it. But before she drove away, she came to me and said "you came!". She said "thanks" and kissed me on the cheek. I want to tell her, I want her to know that I don't want to be just friends, I love her but I'm just too shy, and I don't know why.

Funeral
Years passed, I looked down at the coffin of a girl who used to be my "best friend". At the service, they read a diary entry she had wrote in her high school years. This is what it read: I stare at him wishing he was mine, but he doesn't notice me like that, and I know it. I want to tell him, I want him to know that I don't want to be just friends, I love him but I'm just too shy, and I don't know why. I wish he would tell me he loved me! `I wish I did too...` I thought to my self, and I cried.

Ornithopters, very interesting and cool..

Every Robotics and Tech geek dream about making small things which can fly by themselves. Ornithopters are the aircraft stimulating a bird which can fly by flapping the wings attached to it! Sounds very different and  weird, right? look at the following video to get some basic Idea.

Well, I had some more videos lets take a look, then will come to see its internals .

The above one looks very much modern and flies much comfortably.

Coming to its internals,

First it needs a high-powered motor and then a gear drive to convert circular motion to linear(not perfect linear, it depends on the wings) and then a battery or power source for motor.

Motors:

Till now We have seen Motors pump drive water or drive gears etc..But seeing the need of the project we need a very low-weight motor which can drive at higher-speeds  with high torque having high weight/torque generated ratio. So, brushless Motors are preferred , Any of the 2 types of these Motors,  inrunner brushless or outrunner brushless can be used.

baffled about these two types of Motors??

In Inrunner, Coils(electro Magnets) are Outside and Permanent Motors are inside and when coils are switched On and OFF accordingly permanent magnets rotate. So, shaft is attached to permanent Magnets.

Outrunner are inside-out of Inrunner Motors. Coils are around shaft but not attached to it and permanent motors are outside and when coils are switched On and Off permanent magents rotate which are attached externally to shaft making it to rotate as per Faraday’s laws.

TIP: Best available brushless motors are the vibrators in our mobiles.Yeah, they are core-less and no iron-core in armature.

Gear Drive-train

This is one of the most important job to be done perfectly. Most electrical guy topple seeing this task. Its best to consult a good mechanical guy and make things simple. look the the following video to get why this is tough for Electrical guys..

Batteries

The most important part is motivating the motor to the needed level of  flight digesting the load of aerodynamics, losses in flapping wings, gears etc..We have constraints of weight but as we reduce the battery weight powering the Motor for long enough becomes difficult . So, in conclusion only Li-Poly (Lithium Polymer) batteries are recommended. Rechargeable Li-Poly are best for long run. They do have some drawbacks regarding safety and short-life but they suit for this application. In the end, Li-Poly battery of 200g can carry a 400g Ornithopter not for more than 20 min.

That's it from ma study on these Ornithopters , You can update nfo by comments and I welcome it . :D

Lets see some more astonishing videos where Ornithopters are small as a finger and as light as feather

(The above one is totally crazy) just 2.5 Cm wings and 920mg weight ??? superb, buddy!!

Penguins can Fly..

HAHA sounds ridiculous, right?? How can penguins Fly?? well, See this Video

These penguins are creating air-aquatic theme..

Apple suing each mobile manufacturer, Palm, Nokia, and now HTC..

Lets move backwards….

March 1st, 2010

Apple filed lawsuit on HTC for infringing their 20 patents in their mobiles.

20 patents?? that's heavy and how could a big manufacturer like HTC could forget those patent rights???According tothis detail report in engadget.com Its clear that both companies had infringed their IPs and are extensively using them when needed and bashing them when required, Are they playing or Its just good business??              I think they do this in their conscience and create a recipe to others for marketing!!

Home in a BOX..

‘Home in a Box’ is the series of interior module design of BOXETTI. These designs can be said one of the best space-saving, multi-purpose transforming creating an all-in-one feel.

Its the design where every room in a Home is brought under ne using transforming feature of the Design and Furniture. Its so modern but yet so Contemporary .

Solar-powered Street Lamps

Till now We all saw the solar-powered street lamps which charges and recharges its batteries at Day and Night respectively, But this is the latest implementation of solar street lighting concept  with a mix of bizarre architecture, GREEN(I mean Eco Green), and also a superb technique of plantation.

Looking aesthetically cool and very much scintillating on roads. Those green lit paths is the way water is being rotated in the tree. Light is supplied at the bottom of the tree while Water carries the light to the end part of stems using Hydroponic effect of Water. Seeds are placed at the end of stems where little plants grow creating more soothing effect for drivers.

What are Fuel Cells?

We must been hearing all about these Fuel Cells since 2003, President Bush announced a program called the Hydrogen Fuel Initiative (HFI) aims to develop hydrogen, fuel cell and infrastructure technologies to make fuel-cell vehicles practical and cost-effective by 2020.

A Fuel Cells is Energy Conversion device from Chemicals like Hydrogen and Oxygen in to Water.

[Fuel Cell Diagram Thumbnail](Courtesy NASA Glenn Research Center)

A simplified description of a H2-02 Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) Fuel cell will illustrate, in general, how a fuel cell works. The fuel cell consists of a negative electrode (the anode), a positive electrode (the cathode), and an electrolyte. Fuel gas (in this case pure hydrogen) is transported through the anode towards the anode-electrolyte interface where the following (simplified) oxidation reaction occurs:

H2(g) = 2H+ + 2e-

The liberated electrons migrate out of the anode and through the external circuit where work is performed, then finally, into the cathode. On the other hand, the positive hydrogen ions (H+) migrate across the electrolyte, towards the cathode, where they ultimately react with oxygen gas and electrons to form water according to:

2H+ + 1/2 02 (g) + 2e- = H20

The overall fuel cell reaction then is simply:

H2 + 1/2 02 = H20

Seems very casual Chemical equations, right?? There is a good gif on how fuel cells work here in figure 2, Check it out.

So,What about Efficiency??lets take a look!

If the fuel cell is powered with pure hydrogen, it has the potential to be up to 80-percent efficient. That is, it converts 80 percent of the energy content of the hydrogen into electrical energy. However, we still need to convert the electrical energy into mechanical work. This is accomplished by the electric motor and inverter. A reasonable number for the efficiency of the motor/inverter is about 80 percent. So we have 80-percent efficiency in generating electricity, and 80-percent efficiency converting it to mechanical power. That gives an overall efficiency of about 64 percent. Honda's FCX concept vehicle reportedly has 60-percent energy efficiency. If the fuel source isn't pure hydrogen, then the vehicle will also need a reformer. A reformer turns hydrocarbon or alcohol fuels into hydrogen. They generate heat and produce other gases besides hydrogen. They use various devices to try to clean up the hydrogen, but even so, the hydrogen that comes out of them is not pure, and this lowers the efficiency of the fuel cell. Because reformers impact fuel cell efficiency.

The efficiency of a gasoline-powered car is surprisingly low. All of the heat that comes out as exhaust or goes into the radiator is wasted energy. The engine also uses a lot of energy turning the various pumps, fans and generators that keep it going. So the overall efficiency of an automotive gas engine is about 20 percent. That is, only about 20 percent of the thermal-energy content of the gasoline is converted into mechanical work.

A battery-powered electric car has a fairly high efficiency. The battery is about 90-percent efficient (most batteries generate some heat, or require heating), and the electric motor/inverter is about 80-percent efficient. This gives an overall efficiency of about 72 percent.

But that is not the whole story. The electricity used to power the car had to be generated somewhere. If it was generated at a power plant that used a combustion process (rather than nuclear, hydroelectric, solar or wind), then only about 40 percent of the fuel required by the power plant was converted into electricity. The process of charging the car requires the conversion of alternating current (AC) power to direct current (DC) power. This process has an efficiency of about 90 percent. So, if we look at the whole cycle, the efficiency of an electric car is 72 percent for the car, 40 percent for the power plant and 90 percent for charging the car. That gives an overall efficiency of 26 percent. The overall efficiency varies considerably depending on what sort of power plant is used. If the electricity for the car is generated by a hydroelectric plant for instance, then it is basically free (we didn't burn any fuel to generate it), and the efficiency of the electric car is about 65 percent.

Fuel-cell vehicles are potentially as efficient as a battery-powered car that relies on a non-fuel-burning power plant. But reaching that potential in a practical and affordable way might be difficult.

A Big wake up call..

Any natural disaster is an unfortunate, it seems like we are moving in to the professional state of work and also laziness neglecting the importance of fellow beings.

Im talking about the earthquake disaster that struck Haiti, one of the fastest growing city in Latin America. It was a Mega city with full of architectural buildings covering history of French,American and British Revolutions along with its own moz-screenshotHaiti revolution. After 2010 earthquake its full of rubble and dust, no perfect remains of any old buildings, The Presidential Palace was badly damaged, with the second floor entirely collapsing onto the first floor; the Haitian Parliament building, UN mission headquarters and the National Cathedral were also destroyed.

The problem is Earthquake will not destroy people but buildings do .

image

The most concern is that for every 10 years 2 cities are in to full rubble.Every Mega city in this world is prone to atleast one earthquake for every 250 years. But seeing the latest stats seismologists are pressing their nose! Its also said that for the next 25 years top 25 growing cities will be hit by Earthquake with atleast 4-6 Richter scale. List is leading with Tokyo, Istanbul, Tehran, Mexico City, New Delhi, Kathmandu or the two metropolises near California's San Andreas Fault, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Or it could devastate Dhaka, Jakarta, Karachi, Manila, Cairo, Osaka, Lima or Bogota. The list goes on and on.

Had any one woke up?? Yes,The difference was back in 2006 Istanbul drafted an "earthquake master plan" that involved strengthening building codes, mandating earthquake insurance, and reinforcing schools and hospitals with new walls, stronger columns, and other retrofits. Will other cities follow suit?

A simple Art

It’s always great to see something wonderfully human arising out of (almost) nothing through astute observation and simple designs. Kaide Taide (by Finnish designers-duo Aamu Song and Johan Olin) transforms the spaces around the stairs and lobbies – most typically just dead spaces with little lingering value – into spaces for interaction (both with other humans or with the railing itself), whether for a quick rest, a hearty chat or a glancing peep down the stairwell.

Right now it exist simply as an art installation in Helsinki, but I’d say there’s plenty of opportunity for this to be brought to the public, particularly urban cities like Singapore where the large majority of its people live in flats that may have similar spaces. You can also see many more sketches and other types of manifestation over here.
